Default exhaust ?

some may have deja vu when seeing this beautiful picture below that i created a while back. no fancy photoshop photo. just raw camera phone skills

anyway, i looked and found 3 exhaust shops in stillwater. two didnt answer (well, it is after 7pm) and then the last place answered. i told him i would like to take off a reso. he asked why and i told him i put a new muffler and tips on a while back, and had one of my two resos taken off and would like to take off the 2nd to get a little louder sound. he immediately proceeded to tell me if i had exhaust put on, they took off both my resos, as that is the norm. i told him i requested on to remain intact and corrected him and said one is definitely still on. then he proceded to tell me it most likely isnt on and i am probably looking at the cadillac converter. this guy must not listen. i hung up and i will be going to one of the other two shops tomorrow between 1030 and 330 (only 2 classes on tuesday)...but this guy got me thinkin.

if A and C are resos, and B is the muffler, where is the converter? sorry guys, im not mechanically inclined. dont both headers run into it and then exhaust run out? which would mean its way up front and this guy thinks im a complete idiot. sorry, dont feel like walking a mile from my dorm to my truck just to look.

also, you think it will make a big difference taking off the forward reso (C) or do you think it wont effect the sound enough? or possibly too much? i plan on keeping the reso just encase i decide to put it on at a later date.

A = resonator
B = muffler
C = resonator

There are two cats, both are tucked up in the engine bay kind of. Exhaust goes through the manifolds, through the cats, then into the Y-pipe and back. Your exhaust guy is talking out his ***

Good call

I have a guy back home I use, he's always done good work for me. Gave me a good discount this time too, although he pulled a good prank over on me. I had mine routed out in front of the rear wheel, he left the portion of piping with resonator A and the tip hanging on the truck when I came to pick it up, I was pretty confused and about to start getting mad when I turn around and see him laughing his *** off Of course he pulled it right off after that, said the look on my face was priceless.

The cats are always right near the engine because they have to have HEAT to work. That guy was dumb as hell.

well, i went to mister muffler. i had no problems with them. i was in and out in less than 30 mins (they actually worked on it a lot less than that)....anyway they charged me $20, which i thought was cool. i kept the reso just encase down the road i decide to put it back on. it sounds great imo. definitely louder at idle and around town. at hwy speed there is very little drone, cant notice with radio on. im very happy with the difference. sounds like borla should
