Wheel paint durability

Well, I am bored... and the patriots are tearing up the dolphins so bad its not even entertaining. SOOOOOO I thought I would let yall know what I felt of the cheap wheel paint I used on the stock aluminums.
DURABILITY:
For the most part, they held up awsome. I have one wheel that the clear coat is a little faded, but thats my fault. I used a tire shine that ran down over the wheel and dulled the clear. I am going to try to hit it with a powerball to see if it helps.
They handle brake dust great. it sprays right off. They clean more easily than the calipers that I also painted.
CHIPING, CRACKING, PELING:
I have a couple of spots that have chipped off. mainly near the weights that balance the wheel and tire. I am going to touch it up, but the spots are so small that you dont really see them unless you are really looking.
OVERALL:
I am happy with the 20 dollar investment. they have lasted longer than I had anticipated, since I planned on repainting them in the fall. If you are going to try it, just take your time and clean the wheels really good. I used a purple scrubbie pad to scuff them up and it worked great. also tape off the tires with a bit of blue painters tape and news print.
The cost should come in under 30 bucks with all the stuff needed.
I will try to get picks if I can find a blank CD for my camera

100_0514.jpg I second your post Eric, I did the same thing with high gloss black and the stock aluminum wheels... the easiest Mod and cheapest for me by far and it also looks the coolest. I've had one instacne where I had new tires on and the weight chipped a small piece off whel they removed the weight, patched the paint with 2 more coats and 2 coats of clear......
