Dyno testing the automatic
For those that have run on the dyno with an auto, how are you getting an accurate pull? what gear are you using and how do you keep it from shifting? I tried today and wanted to use drive but unless I start at a high RPM it shifts down, same for second gear. HP at wheels was about 180
through the pulls but couldn't see low rpm torque due to starting so high in rpms...HELP.
On the road if I turn on tow/haul then start in first and floor it I can shift it back into drive and it'll go pretty much right to 5800 before shifting.
because of the way the fly by wire is no longer there, you need to crawl under truck and pull the plug for the tranny electronics. then you will be able to do your pulls, but remember the speed limiter will kick in not giving you the full potential of the runs

Sweet numbers, are those to the wheel?
So when you diconnect the trans wires does that put it in the "limp mode" and restrict it to 3rd gear?
When you do this do you get any codes and if so, how do you clear them?
This could be good info for the DIY or mod section.

yes, they are to the wheels. first one just a simple pull with the aftermarket cams and flash, second pull was when we were playing with the fuel and timing but truck did not like it at all.no codes just do it and you will be o.k. if you have the over drive on off switch leave it off. for the tow haul switch it does not matter. also being the h.o. motor you may not have the option at pulling the plug. it may very well go into limp mode, but i dont think it will
