Ahh...ok...just was curious is all. Had trouble seeing how there would be a dramatic difference, same truck, same engine, just 4x2 vs. 4x4.

oh yeah... 4x4 sucks... that cross member is a mother.
I just wedge a funnel in there to catch it before it puddles all over the crossmember, a bit tricky to position it but it works well once it's in the right spot.
Wedging a funnel helps out a bunch! It is a bit tricky to position but once you figure out how to do it and havethe correct funnel, its not too bad.

Yeah it really sucks when you knock it out of place and splash the oil all over yourself though (yeah, I might've done that once...)

Yes, I know what you mean! The worst is not having anything in place to direct the oil. The first time I changed the oil, my wife was "Upset" about the oil that got on the driveway.

The funneldefinately helps out and I'd rather get alittle dirtythan taking it to a"Lube" shop.

yea especially bc those shops seldom get anything correct, and id like to know what this trick is too as my truck is a bitch to the filter off of cleanly and its due as well so let me know in the next week or so

Replace standard drain plug with a $20 Fumoto valve (F106N) andno more worries with 4x4 crossmember.
