dual position tailgate??
Well i was reading thru some posts and read about the dual position tailgate that is offered on the 07's. I was wondering if someone would explain how that is set up. is their a different spot to hook up the cables or do the cables loop around something. A little description and maybe some pictures would be great. Also is the 2nd position where the top of the tailgate is even with the top of the wheelwells so that it helps support the load such as when you are carrying 4x8 sheets of plywood . And lastly is their any way to add this to my 05'. I carry alot of sheets of plywood and that could be really helpful.
I went and looked at it at the dealer. It's a molded piece that bolts in about 1/2 way up you loop the cables around. I think they're $15, was going to get some but my dealer was out of stock at the time.

Do any of you guys know the part number or name for these brackets? I really want them for my '06 but the parts guy at my local dealer acted like he didn't know the difference between a tailgate and a gas cap. Any info would be appreciated.

You would think these guys would need a little more education than a chimpanzee to get a job.
I recently purchased the parts and installed them on my 05. They were surprisingly cheap, like $12 for both parts. I dont remember the part number right now but when i get home i will look and see if i still have the bag for the parts.
I like my dual position tailgate. It is a nice addition to the truck. I have used it a couple times hauling lumber.
It def would be a nice convenience hauling drywall!
