Power Wire

Power Wire
I know it has been talked about here, and there are some people herewho have one on their truck. I would just like to get some info and feedback on the power wire.
What do the people who have one installed think of it? Does advancing the timing have any potential to do ANYkind of internal harm to the top end? Would the engine 'gurus' out there recommend installing one or not? Upside, downside, pros, cons, etc.
Thanks in advance.

RE: Power Wire
I have been modifiying cars and trucks for years, On my old small block chevy that was something I did alot, find the timing which was going to give me the most power. as long as it stays reasonable on the timming and you dont get any detonation you are fine. if you get detonation (which sounds like marbles bouncing around in the engine) put higher octane gas in it. if that dont get rid of it then turn the timing down a little till it goes away.

RE: Power Wire
Yeah, if you hear the "ping" your timing to too advanced. I am running the power wire and I dont have a problem with it. I used to have a stage 1 chip in aswell as the power wire and it still didnt ping. I run regular gas right now, so you shouldnt have a problem.
as far as if its worth it or not... yes. It is a noticable gain in mid-low to mid tq... at least it pulls harder now than if I pull it off...
