Default Gears

I have a base model 06 dakota. I am not sure of the stock gear ratio, but after a few years of the stock gearing and the 3.7L, I am starting to get a bit tired of the slugishness, esspecially when hauling.

Is there anything available for us to change out the gears? I just want stronger pull. I would sacrifice a few MPG.

I am a total newb when it comes to gearing. Can anyone point me in the right dirrection?

Default RE: Gears

i went with the precision gear set. 4.10 kinda exspensive if you have the 4x4 1600.00. included gears, axle seals, bearing kit, oil, but it was well worth the overhaul. only problem i had was trying to learn how to drive again. every light or stop sign i kept driving like my 3.55 were in and just kept launching it. even in the rain i had to slow down. backend kept breaking loose. some time i had to drive in 4 wheel just to keep from spinning. but they will help you out alot. also make sure you get new everything, dont let who ever does it try and sand bag you into using the same axle seals or bearings
