WELL.... after seeing this last post, I was convinced I was going with the BFG ATs 265/75s....
I called Dodge to see what they would bang me for the recal of the speedometer - and mind you Folks, I live in Long Island - where everything is just more expensive for no apparent reason whatsoever - they want $145.00 to do the job.

What?! That cant be possible. Thats a HUGE difference. I have my service slip that states the job and the price, and I am for sure they did it for like $25 or along that line.

I think they're jerking you off dude. Here in central Jersey I can get mine done for less than half that. Hell, you could drive here, get it done, drive home, and it would STILL cost a lot less than $145!

got any pics of your truck?

thx

That tire size sounds perfect, where does it rub?

ORIGINAL: blkdak246

I have 255/75/17 mud terrains and they DID rub a bit once installed. I put a 2" TM leveling kit on, and they still rub BARELY, but just on another part of the tire. I've yet to install my rear end lift.

I wonder why your tires tubbed and mine didnt. My tires a bit wider and taller. Maybe has somthing to do with the rim? I have 16x7 and you have, what, 17x8?

Hmm, that strange. I thought the size of the rim didnt effect the size of the tire, simply the hole that the rim fit in, so a 265/75 r16 and 265/75 r 17 would be the same diameter on the outside end to end. Now his tire is 255/75, which is smaller altogether (when on the same size rim) Why when on the 17" rim is the diameter larger?

Am I wrong about that?

My tire size calculator also says the 255/75-r17 is larger.

Here's some info on how tire sizes are calculated (and what the letters mean): http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=46

I didn't call around to other dealerships, and I probably am getting jerked around. the truth of the matter is that I'd rather go with a size I know will work without having Dodge touch the truck.
Not too many Dodge dealerships that I have dealt with on the Island, and in fact not too many domestic auto dealerships on the Island, seem to be very friendly or helpful.
You always seem to get some nasty parts counter guy or service counter guy when you call, and never get the answer you were looking for.
