Default Airbag sensor malfunction - please assist

Hey folks, I posted several weeks ago that my airbag lights were coming on for no apparent reason.
For a while, they would come on or go off as I was driving, now they come on for good after the truck is running for about 5-10 seconds.
This is driving me absolutely bonkers!!

I disconnected the battery for 30 minutes, as advised, and the problem persists.
My truck is clean and there are no obstructions on the sides or under the seats.
I am out of my warranty.

Question is, can the airbags be turned on permanently? I believe this will solve the issue. If so, can I do this myself, or does it need to be done by the dealer? How much should I expect to pay for this?
blah, blah, blah........

Thanks in advance.

I believe that club cab dakota's are the only one that had a on/off switch on the dash. It is possible that one could be added, but i'm sure it probably wouldn't be much cheaper than just fixing the problem. The biggest problem I've seen with these lights coming on, is the seat weight sensors lose there calibration and just need to be re-calibrated (dealer will have to recalibrate the seat). Occasionally a seat weight sensor or something else goes bad, but it's not that common.

I have an '05 quad cab with the passenger seat airbag sensor, so it's not just club cabs.

I've never had any problem with it.

All dakotas may have the sensors in the passenger seat. I was talking about a on/off switch on the dash. You have to use the ignition key to turn the switch. The club cabs are the only dakotas with that option.

Oops! My bad.

Yea, mine has the seat sensor and lit display on the dash and I thought that's what you meant. It's annoying sometimes having that light lit up all the time even when you just have a couple bags of groceries on the passenger seat.

My 04 QC and 02 CC had the keyed on/off switch on the dash.
