I have an 07 dak, it has the chrome trimmed grille, I want a painted one... I have been searching everywhere and can't find one.... Any help would be appreciated, and by the way you all have very cool dak's.

 

Good luck finding one I think everyone on here that has a painted grill had it painted...

 

Do you just sand the chrome off? also did anyone do it their self? Or do you recommend taking it somewhere?

 

take it somewhere I deffinatly wouldnt do it myself i used to be a painter by trade.

 

just to make sure we are on the same page.... I dont want any chrome any more... I was wondering what the guys do that already have chrome-less grilles if they are damaged?

 

There was a place I found a long time ago that sold painted grille shells. Problem is I don't remember where.[&:]

I have my original chrome one in perfect condition if you would want to consider buying one pretty cheap to have it painted by a body shop. Hit me up in PM if you're interested.

 

You can buy a painted grille from the dealer, but the are between $300.00 to $400.00. If you want the part number for a specific color, PM me and I can get it for ya.

 

Hell, I'll take mine and get it painted to match your truck and ship it for you for $200.[8D]

 

I would also reccomend you have a body shop do it...I tried it myself, and it's already chipping.
