Brandon, I ordered the parts from dodge today. Does one of those contain the surrounding plastic or something? The parts guy said the description for both parts is "switches" and nothing else. Sorry to keep asking, my parts guys are of little help.

Also, when you push in the clutch, does that disengage the cruise? does the brake disengage it?

I started a little article on putting it in but I am having problems with my web page right now. All you need are switches, the black pieces on your truck right now are actually plugged in even though there is no buttons on them. Take the 10mm bolts off the back of the steering wheel so the airbag comes off and exposes the screws that hold on the two switches. Remove the blanks and replace with the real ones and then bolt the airbag back on, wallah! AFAIK this is ONLY for the 07

So, I REALLY need to know how to take the steering wheel apart...

How long did you wait, after removing negative cable, about 5 minutes?

I need pics, dude, I have something, I've been wanting to do, forever...

Frenchy the steering wheel shouldn't be hard, I took the wheel on my dad's ram apart w/o any trouble, just looked at it then and it was pretty obvious.

You don't take the whole wheel off, just the center. There are like 2 or 3 10 mm bolts you remove and that is it.

I have pics, still need to fix my stinking web page

Well, I got the two switches in, installed them properly...and they don't work. So, would it be safe to assume that I need to get the "starscan" at dodge?

it was posted somewhere the difference between the 06 and 07 but I don't recall where. Sorry to hear that

here it is

ORIGINAL: cramerica

Stopped by the Dodge dealership today and dropped the question on the parts dept. manager, he was interested but admitted he'd never heard of it. He also couldn't find the part number for an '07 speed control...shocking.

VA Dakota- Since 07 throttles are electronically controlled, the throttle body must already have a servo attached. For non throttle-by-wire trucks, a servo would be necessary. That's the question I forgot to ask Mikey - do you have a 2007 ST?

and I never looked under the hood, this might be helpful too.

ORIGINAL: VA Dakota

The crusie/speed control package #82209241 is more than 2 switches,

it also has the "Servo unit". which I'm sure was not installed at the factory...........

Look at the rear of your throttle body and see if there are 2 cables...one goes into the firewall on the left side
the second one would go to the speed/cruise control servo, which if youfollow the cable wouldgo to servo in
the right front just behind the coolant recovery bottle.

This web site belowshows it costing $182.25 + shipping

http://www.chryslerpartsdirect.com/

I installed crusie/speed control on a 1997 Dakota , with that package you
had to replace the "clock spring", but it looks like you do not with the 2005- 2007

Also, read the service manual on how to remove the "Air bag" -- Important !!!!!!!!
