Not sure if anyone would know the answer to these, but 1) how much nitrous can the 3.7L SAFELY handle if used only once in a great while, and 2) how possible would it be to swap out the 4speed tranny for the 5speed that comes with the V8s, what problems would this cause?[/align]
I've read that the 3.7 is very turbo/super/nitro boost unfriendly due to the lack of material in the top of the pistons. The first ring is very high up on the piston, and can easily be blown by, burned out or fractured. If I had a 3.7 I was willing to sacrifice, I'd look into juicing it. But long story short, it's not friendly towards major hopping up.
I was looking into it and I think Diamond can make custom pistons, we'll have to see. I wanna build this up over time to be something I can take to the strip and run low 13's high 12's but still be able to DD it. May sound stupid but after spending 3 years on a V6 Camaro/Firebird board you get a new respect for V6s

heres the thing with N2O... The name of the game is fuel management...
Now with the right fuel mix, we can start talking about "the juice."
I dont think its a good idea to do it without forged internals. You can have custom pistons made, but I tend to think rings and rods are the weak point in this motor...
Maybe look into cams and pistons with higher compression... That would be a more stable daily driver that would have power all the time, not just when you have a bottle hooked up.
