spark plug / intake manifold question
you are probably wondering what the hell these two have in common. here is my problem: as i was changing my spark plugs (3923 gapped at .040) i dropped one under neath the intake manifold. i tried like hell to get it out flexible magnets and magnets on a string. no luck. i am not sure if i could get one under there again if i tried. currently i am driving with the 9th plug under the intake manifold there seems to be no problem or even a rattle. i am not sure if i have the expertise to get the intake manifold off (fuel rail, throttle cables and all that other ****). Is there any harm that can come from the runaway plug? should i bite the bullet and go to a mechanic/dealer? if so any reputable in the md area?
thanks for the help!
try one of those flex tools with the grasping claws at the end. The are only about a 1/8-1/4inch in diameter and will fit through any openining. Simply reach in and grab the end, then carfully drag it out.
