Hi All,

I've been lurking a while, and researching. Took the plunge a week ago, and picked up an '05 QC, 4x4, with a 4.7 for a good price.

Nice truck, and so far, so good. Harder on gas than I like, but i knew that going in.

Now, here's my problem. It has a factory spare tire lock. More like a winch lock, I guess, and the previous owner can't find the key.

Anybody know how to get the lock insert out, with a minimum of damage?

If it's factory the dealer may be able to make you a key for it, it's iffy but probably worth a call to find out.

It's a dealer item, so not tied to the VIN. It's a similiar idea as a lug nut lock, not a true KEY. Dealer says to cut the cable, and just buy a new winch, and lock.
