Maybe this was a freak thing, but our 06 3.7 4x4 just died on me in the driveway. I backed it up to load up a chair, then when I pulled forward again, it died after about 15 feet. I didnt even notice it until I pressed the gas and didnt go anywhere, lol. I know this is a common problem on the 4.7's, but has anyone ever heard of it on the 3.7's?

Try to have the computer scanned on it that will tell you whats causing that too happen, and have that one checked real good before you go on a trip with it, I think the scan auto zone will do for free, IN my experience, we cleaned the o2 sensor and it worked great. The other thing is to try and clean the battery cables.

It is a known problem with V8's? THank GOD. Now can someone tell me what the problem with the V8's is? Not trying to thread jack, but mine does it every now and then, and its annoying when I am doing freeway speeds, and it bloody stalls, and I lose all power steering, brakes, etc. I have had the dealer run every test known, never can locate anything. No trouble lights, nothing kept in memory. Mine is 2006. Drives normal, then just stalls. No warning. Instant restart, all fine, no trouble lamps.

I wouldn't really call it a common problem on the V8's. Happened to me twice in one year and both times it was after I had put it in park. Hasn't happened at all since I switched to the Autolite 3923's, engine also ran smoother after the switch, the gaps were all over the place on the factory plugs.

I agree with Altair. It could be an issue with your plugs try swapping them for the Copper Core Autolite 3923's if you don't already have them. I know when I took my factory plugs out they were supposed to be gapped at .040 but I had some that were as far off as .050. It should fix your problem if you aren't getting a dummy light and it isn't throwing any codes.
