Default trailer brake controller

I need to pull a horse trailer from miami to kentucky and the trailer has brakes but i dont have a brake controller. So i was wondering if anyone has any experience with this and can recommend a controller. Also i installed the trailer wiring harness for my truck that i bought from dodge and assume all i need for the brake controller is the light blue wire, is this right? Thanks

Default RE: trailer brake controller

I just put a controller in mine. I have the factory tow package, 'though, and it was plug and play. I bought a Tekonsha Prodigy, and the Dodge conversion harness. It plugs into the back of the controller, and into a factory (blue) plug right above the E-brake pedal. Lots of adjustability. Applies agressively, if you want, or very gently, for critters. Nothing better than never being able to load a horse again, because he got banged around in the trailer.
