Default Instead of an intake kit...

Has anyone ever toyed with fabbing up a 90 degree elbow that can hold our IAT sensor, and mount a mopar peformance/K&N round filter housing on top of the engine?

I see its been done on the 2nd gen rams, where the factory air box was removed, and replaced with the round filter housing for a classic look.

i had that same set up on my 97 ram. wont work on our trucks. the filter element will be sitting to high. i suppose if you had the 3 inch body lift kit you would have enough room, but factory height is just to tight.

Oh wow, I wish that could work...maye if you could have the filter move forward a little bit more and get like a 6 pack hood on top lol?? Idk

But man does that engine bay look super duper clean in those pics

I did that on my old 2000 Dakota... you notice a huge difference in power and well gas milage... it's not as good.... That part didn't seem to make sense to me, but gas mileage went down abotu a mile a gallon.
