Default reset computer

How do I reset the computer on my 2005 Dodge Dakota? I recently had to change the battery and now my truck dies a couple of times a day when I stop. The fuel gage also seems to be stuck on full, but will sometimes move, then the next time I start it, it will be stuck at full again. Someone suggested that the computer needed to be reset. Any suggestions?

Sorry, looks like I posted this questionin thewrong place.

Thanks!

to reset the computer, you need to put truck in nuetral and push it off a cliff, sorry wrong post

simply unplug the negative battery terminal. put key in ignition and turn it all the way to start, hold there for 20 seconds, then turn it off. wait about a minute then hook up neg cable. start and stop truck 3 times. on the third time leave truck running for 5 minutes so it will relearn everything. nexted take it for a ride and see how it does. find an open stretch of road where you can get on it from a stand still. the tranny will need to recalibrate its shifts points, then you should be allset.

the other option is too let truck sit overnight with the neg cable disconnected and then do the same as the first part

Superdak,
Thanks forthefeedback on resetting the PCM. I looked through the05 Service Manual PDF but did not locate anything on the subject. Is this somethingonlythe service techs have access to, or did I justsimply overlook the data in themanual?

Makes sense, why would theylet owners know about a simple computerreset when they can charge us$100/hr labor to do 30 sec. of work. Nice money maker!

What Superdak5 said is correct. I have done it, from info posted here, and I think it was answered many moons ago, by Superdak5 for me.

Thanks. Will give what superdak05 said a try (the unplug - not the cliff).
