Default 06 Headlights

Am I the only one that seems to be replacing a headlamp every 2-3 months? What sort of garbage is this? Anyone ever figure out what the problem is, and did you correct it? Stopped using OEM lights long ago, switched to Silverstar, still blowing them.

Sounds like your Alternator is putting to much voltage out. Start it up and get a voltmeter across the battery the Max you should read at about 2500rpm is 14.5 volts.

I wish they still had voltmeters on vehicles. if that is the problem, is it an easy fix, or do I need stealership assistance?

depends on if you're truck is under warranty or not...

but it does sound like the alternator is putting out to much juice or you have a short in the wiring to the headlights.... is the fuse the proper fuse size as well?

but if you're not mechanically inclined, all you have to do is go pick up an alternator from autozone or your local auto store, most will put them in for you, or at least tell you how.....

sounds like it is just your truck. Have you taken it in to check to see if the alternator is throwing to many volts?
