Default Which CAI AEM Brute Force or K&N

What's up my Dakota brothers. Just got the truck about 2 weeks ago and already got hit with the mod bug. I told myself that I was only gonna get the windows tinted and that was it. Well I just got my super 40 Flow in today and putting it on tomorrow. Was checkin out some CAI and wanted to get some opinions on which to get. I was looking at theAEM Brute Force or the K&N what do you guys think.

Is there any performance difference between the 63 & 77 K&N, one being plastic and the other metal.

there is a difference between the two intakes. one being chrome which goes not flow with the engine scheme and tends to attract more heat, plus you wont be able to relocate your iat sensor away from the engine heat, the plastic one which it is not, but made from some other material, will attract less engine heat and you will be able to relocate the sensor farther down the tube away from the engine heat

Thanx Baracis, thats why I went with the 77 Series, it dressed the engine bay up.

I meanyeah its only estimated at 7 hp compared to the plastic 63 Series which is 9 hp, but can you feel 2 hp difference, I doubt it? haha On paper is the only place you may see a difference. As far as the ease of relocating the IAT , andis the only difference whether how greatof a benefitit is is unknown, IMO. Thermal Conductivity is a slight imaginable idea. The air doesnt set there and soak up the heat that fast, to again actually make a very noticeable edge on your oppenentA minor thermo dynamics problem would also displays a very minimalincrease in air temp between the two. AEM also concurs with this idea... http://www.aempower.com/ViewNews.aspx?NewsID=7So I hardly doubt you would notice that big of a difference compared between the Aluminum of the Plastic.
