Hello I have a 05 Dakota Quad Cab Laramie, today when I went to put the truck into park it wont go. It will shift into every other gear but park. Has anyone else had this problem before?

 

I gotta manual...but geez. Something is always going wrong with these things.

I have parking brake, though..

 

there is a recall on the tranny. the mechanism that holds the lever in the park position will slip out of place causing truck to role. it is like a slide bolt. the only fix is to get it to the dealer so they can tear it apart and replace the thing. sounds like the trouble you are having. a quick fix for now. start and stop truck in neutral until you get it to the dealer. and use your emergency brake
