I have no lift kit or leveling kit.

I am not sure why some people say they have rubbing. I have pictures of the truck with the 265/75 tires on them If you want to judge for yourself. They are about the max you can fit.

Your tires now are 245/70, these tires are about an inch taller in total, and about half an inch taller on the side wall. They really fill out the wheel well nice and make the truck sit better.

I will post a few pics of my truck with them later tonight.

How wide are those tires, because mine rubbed like hell.

I'm not sure what the options are on the new 07 and 08 Dakota's, but I know they ran this rim on both the 05 and 06 model yrs.

Well the 07s run the std 16s with the optional 17x7s or 18x8s rims. Right now I am running 265/60R 18s on my 07. As for the 08s it looks as if only 16s and 18s are offered.

I had 16x8 (same ones I have on now...)on there with basically 31x10.5 mudders... could be why mine rubbed.

Well I've got 265/70R16 on my dak. They are the stockers that came with the TRX package on my truck. I thought I read on here somewhere that the TRX sits an inch higher but that could just be BS too, not sure. All I know is that mine don't rub under normal conditions but when I get mud/ice/snow buildup on the mudflaps they rub a little on that but otherwise they don't.

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Just use this tool to get exact specs of tires, the size difference, and how much the speedo will be off.

The tool says that a 265/75 actually has a 1" taller sidewall (then your 245/70), so It will provide a real total 1" lift.

A 265/75 = a 31.6" tire.

Again I dunno why some people are claiming that 265/75 rub...maybe they have a 17" wheel? If thats the case they they will most definately rub, because the tire grows to a 32.6" tire.

If you have the ST 16x7 wheels, go with 265/75 R16 tires.

Im not sure. my 265/75 tires are 10.43" wide footprint, so its about the same. My tread as you can see in the pictures were described as "trail" tread, if you had mudders it could have been the tread that contributed to the rub.

Here's a couple shots of the TRX so you can see what my 265/70R16 BF All Terrains look like on the truck.

Will adding a taller tire also potentially improve the ride? If there is more sidewall to give, shouldn't the ride be a bit softer?

Should be. That's why I've always heard (generally speaking) that low pro's will decrease the ride comfort, especiall in SUV's and Trucks. I'd assume the opposite is true as well.

265/75 R16. As I said it only rubs when turning a certain amount and the suspension has to be compressed a bit (hard cornering or bump). I already figured out where it's rubbing, will probably trim it a bit sometime.
