Agreed. I have 265/75 tires on the same 16x7 wheels donkey has, and stock suspension, and i had no rub at all. Looks good btw.

See that looks right to me, the new tires you put on. The stock 245/70 are just way to small for this truck. They look like little entenmann's donuts lol. 265/75 r16 just looks like the right size.

Tryin to figure this out, but I'm confused.

I'm currently runnin a 265/65/17 on a 17 x 8 Mopar Chrome Clad rim. How big can I go without rubbin mud flaps or anything else?

a 265/70 r17 would probablly be the most you can squeeze. That would be about half an inch of vehicle lift (from the sidewall being taller) and the tire in a whole is about an inch larger in diameter compared to a 265/65 r17.

I have no idea if it would rub. The wheel being 17x8 id guess it would rub.

The TM leveling kit went on last night. Actually, the installation was not as bad as I thought. However, I do not care for the way TM has the replacement bolt kit. I would have preferred longer, splined studs (like the factory studs, only longer). I was fearful that the seat spring pressure on the unit would not be enough to tighten the nuts without spinning the bolt. Well, only one bolt gave me some trouble there...and just like murphy's law states, it had to be the very back bolt closest to the motor.

Anyway, the kit is on, and my Dakota actually looks like it has some ********* now.

Replacement bolt kit?

When you installed it did you have to compress the springs and disassemble the strut?

If you installed it the way I'm thinking you did (on top of the strut) you may want to consider redoing it. Trailmaster's instructions for the kit used to have it installed that way, they have newer instructions on their site that have the spacer installed inside the strut although when I got mine they were still shipping it with the hardware to install it on top. Instructions are here: http://www.trailmastersuspension.com...ions/DL223.pdf

Some people have reported issues of axle bind with a spacer on top of the strut on the 4x4's, the theory behind it being that the strut will only extend a certain distance. By placing something on top of the strut the suspension is now allowed to drop further at full droop. Placing a spacer inside the strut on the other hand preloads the spring making the vehicle sit higher but since the strut only extends a certain distance the suspension cannot travel outside stock geometry.

...F&#@!!!

Hmmm, well I have not put it into 4 wheel drive yet. Has everyone seen issues with the spacer on the top of the strut with a 4x4?

Has there been any reported issues of coil bind on the new configuration?

Well, got off the phone with trailmaster.

So, apparently I recieved the revised 1.5" kit that goes above the strut. Hence, technically should not bind any CVs.

However, the new instructions are the "new" way of installing the kit that does NOT come with the extra hardware.

Hmm interesting. I just ignored the extra hardware with mine and installed it with those instructions, lol.
