Every Daimler-Chrysler engineer I've spoken to at various shows such as SEMA have told me the same thing - the HEMI motor won't fit between the frame rails in the 05+ Dakota, and they have little to no interest at all in modifying them to make it fit. They've already shoved the HEMI motor in about as many vehicles as they want to, and don't see any value in an upscale Dakota beyond the wanna-be R/T they showed at the Chicago Auto Show which was just a re-badged Laramie 4.7L HO with a hood scoop and some decals.
I would like to see them stuff the 6.1 L Hemi, from the 300 C Hemi, into the Dakota as well change the front bumber. maybe like the ones in my other post.
Yeah the Hemi's supposed to even weigh less than the 4.7, I think. I was just picking on the ground-scraping bumper you photoshopped on the blue truck on the other thread (Which I will admit does look cool if you're going for a racer look... I just prefer an off-road-capable look on pickups)
