Default shift kit from aps

hey all. i was reading up on APS's shift kits for the 4.7. it says its for the 45rfe 2002-2005. i have a 2006 with a 45rfe. whats the difference in the 06 and the older 45rfe's i thought as long as it was an 45rfe its a 45 rfe.

thanks in advance

Transgo just has not updated the application, it will work. Here is the same kit much cheaper.
Transgo 45RFE-HD2

APS will give you some BS about there kit being "newer" or different "modified" but it is the -hd2 kit.

http://www.transmissionpartsusa.com/...-052930hd2.htm

Or try bulkpart.com. they have the kit and also have both filters really cheap, just make sure you get the oring gasket for the flat pan filter.

If you are concerned call Transgo and ask.

My expercience is the since the trans is electronic the firm shifts are inconsistant at best, sometimes nice and firm, sometimes you don't even know it's there, dosent matter if it is hot or cold, kinda strange. (it does run out longer in the upper gears and definetly works well pulling the boat!)

Hope that helps,
LB

firms up the shifts under load, runs out longer in the upper gears.
Just the kit works, but if you have the pan off may as well replace both filters, 1-spin on and 1 flat pan filter, oring for the pan filter. Honestly it is an easy install, just time consuming and messy. The things that took the longest is cleaning the old gasket material from the pan, and soldering in the resistor that comes with the kit.
Get an inch pound torque wrench (mine was $20 at Harbor Freight) and the job is easy. Mine took about 8 qts Mopar Atf+4 (walmart $4.50 qt) but depending on how many
miles 30K+ I would change the rest after you do the pan disconnect the return line at the radiator and pump out a few quarts at a time and refilling until you replace the full 16 quart capacity. The whole job including dropping the crossmember on my 4X4 took about 5 hours and a 6-12 pack!
