Default POS Bolt!!!!

Ok guys my bull bar arrived yesterday, so tonight I'm workin on installing it after trying for a few hours last night already, and the tow hooks came off easy enough, but this f***ing bolt is starting to seriously **** me off. This bolt has some crazy nut on the top of the frame that requires an 11mm hexbit. I've soaked it, doesn't seem to be helping, any advice?

Looks like a biotch. If you can reach the nut with a torch from the top a little heat works wonders. A little propane torch would be best. Just be careful whatever else is around it. Looks like the radiator overflow tank is right next to it? Maybe slide a piece of sheet metal or something next to it to protect it. Can't tell how big the bolt is but you could also just crank on the head until the bolt breaks, nuts and bolts are cheap. Another option would be to grind the head off the bolt and then drive it up through the frame with a punch. Good luck.

that bolt was a MOTHER ****ER to get off when i did the body lift! i think i ended up cutting it off. Didnt need the stock bolt, because the body lift replaced that bolt anyways.

Need the 11mm hex on top holdin that crazy lookin nut in place so you can turn out the bolt, cuz if you just turn the bolt the whole top thing turns too....

the tow hooks were pretty easy for me, the other bolts weren't bad and the hooks are just kept in place by a tight fit around the rubber on this bolt so i could just hammer them out, but this bolt is being a serious pain in my ass1

at one point i had a pair of vice grips holding that thing and STILL could not get it to budge! Might save yourself a head ace by going to lowes or home depot and getting new ones with ne nuts and some washers.

I had the EXACT same problem with that bolt!!! A heavy duty Snap on impact and two guys holding the top insulator later it budged just barely enough to slide in the bracket for the bull bar. I feel sorry for the poor ****er who tries to steal it!! Good luck, dude.
