Cool Lifts for 07 dakota

Hey so I want to lift my truck only about 3 inches. I'm wondering which is better, suspension lift or body lift? I really don't know much about them and wondering if anyone could help

Thanks.

Well, the only suspension "lift" available is a front leveling kit (usually about 2 inches) that raises the front to match the rear. Performance accessories makes a 3" body lift, a few members have combined both to get a nice stance.

Eric,

its an actual lift. Clearance is gained. In one way or another, it lengthens your struts, which lifts the front, 2",including the frame (unlike a body lift). BUT, no articulation is gained. It's sort of like lifting your truck in the front 2" with a floor jack. The leveling kit simply allows the suspension to sit at that 2" higher point. So nothing is truely gained by this, besides the front end sitting 2" on its tip-toes.

But..

The only TRUE 100% lift, that lifts axles and all, is larger tires/wheels.

Yeah I got 1.5" when I did mine. I personally don't think its worth $ and the effort....

A body lift, and then a set of the largest tires that will fit, would get you better departure and entry angles, because the body would be higher, and the larger tires would lift the frame and axles higher, but body lifts are kinda a last resort thing IMO.

Who wants to seperate the body from the frame? It looks ok on our trucks....

Hockeyforme, theres really no good options lol.

My leveling kit that I just purchased is going back tomorrow. Got my RGA# today. This was the kit that the spacer sits on top of the strut. After reading here I couldn't make myself install it. If someone would come up with a 2 1/2 inch suspension lift combined with a one inch body lift I would be doing back flips.

Well, "autospring" Sells a 2.5" leveling kit for our truck. It fits on top of the strut without issue. My buddy couldnt get the lower a-arm to come back up high enough to bolt to the upper ball joint after putting the kit in, but there is a guy on here that has it installed without an issue. It's like a copy-cat ready lift kit. It was really good quality, I just don't know if its a good idea. Really puts the stock geometry off, big time. Dunno if 4x4 would bind either.
