Default Wiring for CB Radio

Hi all....new to the site and hope you all go easy on me. I have a 2007 and just recently bought a CB Radio that i'm going to be hooking up to it. My only problem is, there are a lot more wires in this puppy than I'm used to. I got under and started looking to see if I could splice in to the power going to the cigarette lighter and noticed an extra pair of wires taped off that lead into an empty female connector. Not really sure why that is there or why it isn't being used. The wires are green and blue. Any thoughts? Should I be looking to wire this in somewhere else?

Hay man, i installed a CB in my dak as well... I didnt bother looking for a hot wire under the dash, i just ran a hot right off the battery. I had to run on for the lights up front, might as well run a second. If you hard wire it to the battery, just have to make sure that you turn it off.

here is my set up

Personally if I were doing it I'd look for a spare or auxiliary fuse in the fusebox that only has power when the ignition/acc is on. If you pull from there you'll never have to worry about it draining your battery because turning off the truck will turn off the radio.

on the bright side, ive left the cb on all night and truck still started right up.

I like being able to use mine without having to turn the key. My CB and off road lights are direct batery. Fused circut of course.
