Default Good Idea or Washout

So I was holding off on unveiling my idea till I got it done but I can't do this by myself. So before I think about paying someone to do it I wanna see what everyone else thinks. It may not even be cost reasonable to have someone else do either. Check it out:

This setup is with louvers on back outside.

Here's same louvers down the center. Looks like nostrils to me but I don't really care for this setup.

And here's my dilemma. The hood skeleton crosses in every section of the hood that the louvers could fit.

I was thinking maybe a body shop could cut and modify the hood to fit them up. Any thoughts or thoughts about the louvers in general?

not a good idea for the hood, unless you can get some type of drainage system for when it rains. they might look good on the back part of the fender near the door hinge.

Yeah the vehicle I pulled them off of has a plastic guard and drain that mates up to it

I like the looks of the first setup. I agree though, I wouldn't go anywhere near it without a bullet proof way to drain it away from the engine.

Just buy fake ones you can stick anywhere with double sided tape.

It looks good, could be a beast to make happen though.

Yeah, draining wouldn't a problem. It's just hacking up the hood and still leaving it rigid. I don't have the means of doing it and I dunno if a body shop could even do it without getting $$$. The only way to find out I guess is run to one and ask...

I may just put 'em on my jeep and be done with it. Or on the Xb, it'll fit sideways on it givin it an Evo look.

Well, it looked like it'd have been to much of a hassle so I gave up and started fitment on my cj. One side is about done. I'm actually kinda glad it wouldn't have fit. It's been a pain on the jeep mostly b/c the fiberglass hood is thicker than the sheet metal the louvers were made fore. So out with those louvers.

Was too lazy to add these to photobucket and ran over limit to attach. Here's both pics I was gonna add.
