If you have the 16x7 steel painted wheels, then you can put a 265/75 tire on, which is the largest you can get on these things. If you have a 16x8 rim, for some reason, the 265/75 will rub, so you need to go a bit thinner. the extra inch must cause the sidewall to rub somewhere close to the rim I'd guess.

I am running 265/75s on the 16x7s on a stock suspension and they have never rubbed. I hear with the 16x8 wheel they rub slightly...Even if they do rub a little on full lock, who gives a sh*t u know?

If your stock tires are 245/70, the 265/75 is 2" taller, and has a 1" taller sidewall. You get a true 1" lift, axles and all.

Dodge will recalibrate your speedometer/odometer for the 265/75s without an issue, for a small charge.

I noticed no loss in fuel economy. My tire is a "Chapparal" (an off brand of Cooper) and has a trail/light offroad tread. There seems to be no real additional rolling resistance(of course weight of tire, and tread will change that), and because the tire is larger, and and in result changed the end gear ratio, because it rolls less revolutions then the smaller tire, my MPG remained unchanged. Seems to be the sweet spot. Yippie.

Good Luck.

and a stock set of tires comparison...

Those 245/70s are just too damn small. They look like chocolate covered donuts don't they? lol. The best thing you can do for this truck is tires.

I think the largest tire that came stock was 265/70. Thats probably what you had, thats a full 1" shorter.

No, I used the spare as one of my 4 new tires and it was a copy of the originals, 265/75 on the side to this day.

I just put 265/76/16's on. They rub just a bit turning with the TM front spacer too.
