Where E.L. is electroluminescent.
Like, how does it work, and where does the light come from...
Needless to say, I want to change the gauge backlighting...
Or if anyone finds a super cheap gauge cluster... I would also buy one and tear it apart to figure it out...
Wiki is useless... and so is all the "tech data"
Seems I might have to be real inventive with the next couple upcoming mods...

i gave up on that crap, i tried the whole change the lights behind the hvac and stuff.. i bought the wrong voltage leds, bc everytime i hooked them up they burned out.. sucked but if u figure it out id like to see how ur doing it.. i also got in touch with a gauge place that makes custom ones there making some for our trucks soon also!
i just had mine out today... the face is a white vinyl cover over a white plastic peice wich glows green with E.L...soooo im thinkin if you can get the needlesoff without messing up calibration and paint the white yellow with marker/signal transparent paint it would glow a dark blue? if someone knows if and how to remove needles withought a mess...id tear mine out tomorrow and give it a go?

the resistor is wired into the positive side... solder it to the positive side of the led before fitting it to the piece... then just run power and ground to the array...
