Default Factory CD Player mode button not working

Won't switch to CD mode. I've tried resetting the radio like suggesting in a older post here, but all that happens is the clock resets. Is that all, or should the radio stations reset?

Pulled the fuse up and out of that funny little holster in my 06 Dak, cranked truck, left running for a minute or so, turn off, replace fuse, and nada. AM/FM work fine, it's just like the truck doesnt realize the CD section is there.

Anything else I can try short of buying a new radio?

When you load a CD, doesn't it switch to CD mode?

I have had my stock radio for over a year now sitting in a box. If you want it it's yours for shipping cost plus like...10 bucks I don't care.
