I have a 2005 quadcab v8 dakota (4x4), with the factory tow package. I need to know the maximum load AND tow capacities. Suspension is STOCK. Thank You in advance.

your payload should be around 1200lbs according to the factory specs and the tow capacity is about 7000lbs. i know my 05 cc has towed 3 tons of wood pellets every season without any problems. but the distance was no more than 15 miles and it was on city roads no highway

big question is what the the rear end? 6500 lbs is what I have with the towing package. I would need to check but i don't have the best rear for towing, If I did, it would be 7500. 6500 is more then i need right now. What I understand the towing package included was hitch and plug. upgraded suspesion, tranny cooler, upgraded alt. that is all. I also had a tranny temp gauge installed (aftermarket)

Quad Cab 4x4 Max payload - 1,630 lbs, Max Trailer Weight - 6,850 lbs WHEN PROPERLY EQUIPED.
Properly equiped means V8, Auto trans, Trailer Tow Package, 3.92 axle ratio.
If your truck has the trailer tow package and a 3.55 axle ratio, your max trailer weight is 300 lbs lower. Most trucks with trailer tow package have 3.55 axle ratio because the 3.92 is an additional option that the dealers usually don't order unless the customer special-ordered the truck.
In addition - Corporate axle and Dodge axle are the same thing, in 2005 the HO option included antispin axle. You can determine if your axle is 8.25" if it has 10 bolts, if it has 9.25" it has 12 bolts.
