I want to replace my stock speakers, they seem to distort very easily. what kind of speakers for a reasonable price could I replace my stock ones with? please keep in mind I am still using the stock headunit, there is nothing wrong with it works just fine for me, and I want to purchase these retail I am not an Ebay shopper. Also I have replaced speakers in other vehicles before and it seems like the sound quality really did not improve much they actually seemed to be quieter. I know thats alot but I would appreciate any help..

 

I replaced mine with Polk db650's for now till I get money for a real system built up, was a noticeable improvement running off the stock headunit and the sound improved again when I swapped the stock HU out for the MyGIG. Bought them from Cardomain's store for $50 a pair, I think that was a limited time deal though.

 

Depends if your truck has pre-amps from the factory, when you put in aftermarket speakers running directly off your stock head unit you cant put out the frequency's needed to make the high end speakers sound right. If you have the infinity system stock (98 and up i think) it will have pre-amps on the speakers and that will help. I have eclipse speakers in my 94 and they sounded way worse than stock until i put in a amp to run them... Now i have to get out to turn it up past half way... But still clear! a beautiful thing...
