hello
the acceleration with the v6 and 6 speed manual is good? I like manual transmission, the v8 only automatic. This is in the extended cab.
thanks

what do you mean extended cab? all dakotas are technically "extended cabs" since we arnt offered a regular cab. club cab is 2 full doors and 2 small doors, Quad cab is 4 full doors.
With the V8 and auto, I can average 21 MPG all day long. If I put the 81 octane tune from the tuner in, I can pull 22.5-23 (tested it on 4 tanks thus far)
My best was a 24MPG, but that was all express way driving to flint and back. with very little wind.
If you plan on driving with passengers, I suggest a quad cab. and since there isnt much by way of aftermarket support for the V8, and its worse for the V6... I would go V8. thats just me though. I love the tuner and I dont think I would get a V6 since its not able to be tuned.

V6 acceleration with a 2WD club cab, unloaded, with one passenger, is decent. The engine wakes up at about 3,000 RPM so you have to wind it up to get going.
When I moved back to NY I had a packed cab, packed bed, and a stuffed 5x10 UHaul. I always made it to 55 MPH on interstate rest stop ramps. But I was shifting at about 5,000 RPM. You can hit 60 MPH in 3rd gear.
If you really prefer manuals over autos (like me), you might get more enjoyment out of the V6 for that reason alone.
Keep in mind, the club cab (short extended cab) is strictly a 2 seater. A quad cab with 4 people would have the V6 working pretty hard.

You guys need to keep up on your lingo...
Dodge now names there trucks like the rest of the free world:
06 Club Cab = 09 Extended Cab
06 Quad Cab = 09 Crew Cab
Check it out on dodge.com
To answer the interior space question, we really need to know what's more important to you: Passenger spaec or Cargo space? If you want to carry more than two people or a child in a child seat, you gotta get the crew. If you want a truck for cargo or a commuter on a limited budget, the extended is just fine.
