Sounds to me like something is up with the airbag system, were it just the light that says passenger airbag off I would suspect the pressure sensor on the seat but with the airbag light on the dash illuminated also that seems less likely. If your truck is still under warranty you should take it to the dealer for them to look at.

yeah think I will take it in this has been a fun truck to own ,
at 8 days old the diff went out "no oil in it" and in death valley. 109 deg day fun fun.

on second month steering became loose they said it was normal slop its a truck dealer said,

at 1 yr old I took it in for oil change and tire rotation guy pulls out of stall floors it lights up tires and drives into another vehicle they fix but now it veers to left under hard braking.

last month steering goes out big time on tall bridge in middle of it 150 ft up in the air at at I215/10 freeways in so Calif on Friday at 5PM.

at tis fabulous time the rod comes out of steering unit making pass side wheel turn outward guess it was caused by that normal slop in the truck suspension the dealer told me about .
now this airbag thing I a dodge man from way way back but what happened to them ?

Ive owned 318s
383s 440s
sixpacs hemis new and old and a 56 331 dusters chargers demons road runners challengers and a magnum hemi a pt cruiser now this Dakota .

oh yeah thanks for the fast reply
