Default sctuner and home computer

what is everyone updating there tuner with, windows xp or equivilant , or windows vista? i have the vista 64, and i think this is why my truck keeps getting screwed up. i can do the required updates, and tuner will receive them, and it says v 1.29 and database is now 236 up from 234, but when i go to status it still says tuner requirers an update. the online messages says tuner has been updated, so shouldnt the tuner say it to in the status mode. whats everyone elses tuner say?

Don't know, I use XP. But I know forever there were posts on the SC forum regarding problems with updates & Vista. I wouldn't be so fast to bit*c at SC about it either, I know Diablo, SCT and a bunch of non-vehicle related devices that rely on the 'net for updates either don't work at all or don't work correctly with Vista.
I think it's time you got Bill on the phone...

The Vista 64 build is solid, however, most periphials have issues with the 64 bit version since it is not the broad release version. I would say that it is the root of your problem.

Most periphials are built with the 32-bit version in mind. I would see if you can get an XP or Vista 32-bit machine to update it and see what is says.

beat me to it, id bet its the 64 bit thats screwing it up i know the school gave us the 32 bit vista on 64 bit laptops bc of compatability issues w/ some of the software/peripherals we needed
