Doesn't matter how many locks you have...

When i was little around 5 or 6, our house got broken into in the Dallas Fort Worth Area (Irving, TX) on my dads birthday.. which is right after Christmas.. Jan 4th or 6th cant remember.

Came home to find a Perfect circle cut out of our door, and everything in the house gone within 30min, (my mom was picking me up from school) in plain daylight they got away...

one reason why i hate the cops, they never found them and never tried to and withheld evidence from my parents a 9mm handgun.. hmm sounds like a cop was in on it..

but at least we where not home or i would be dead right now.

as for my truck being broken into, its been close but no cigar... found 2 mexicans looking in my windows at Best Buy when i worked there. After they tried to open of of the doors my shock sensor on my Viper 791 2 way alarm went off and told me my truck was being moved... I ran outside saw them looking in the windows, started the truck with remote start they looked around and ran off. No damage to the truck, but if there was i would have grabbed a sharp object ran at them and killed them both till blood was flooding the roads...

This country is going to ****. This kind of stuff didn't happen very often years ago. Whats changed? Society, growing minority populations is all that come to my mind. Guess we'll all end up with cameras all around the house along with plenty of guns.

You think it's bad now? Another year of recession ought to make things really interesting.

Don't worry, others that think like you are taking action:

Marcello Lucero, 38, who moved to Patchogue 15 years ago, was fatally attacked by seven students, all 17 and 16 years old from the Patchogue-Medford High School, according to Suffolk police. They were charged with felony gang assault. One of them, Jeffrey Conroy, also was charged with manslaughter as a hate crime for allegedly stabbing Lucero in the chest. In front of a Central Islip courtroom, Assistant District Attorney Nancy Clifford said the group plotted late Saturday to target a Hispanic stranger in a racially motivated attack.

oh i'm the same way, i have a checklist for my own place: alarm system, security cameras, 12 gauge, semi-auto 45.

I'm also looking at those viper alarm systems. Is it possible to just integrate the alarm portion and not use the remote entry or remote start part of them?

I believe it is, you need some sort of bypass module for your specific vehicle, if you google it I'm sure you will come up with something.

I don't know if it is but I have a Viper 5900 SST and the remote start can be quite nice plus the remote will let me know if anyone is tampering with the truck (2 way, roughly 1 mile range). I had the dealer make me a key without the fob built in so I didn't have to carry that giant thing around in addition to the Viper fob.
