it sounds better...but if you have the ability, you should replace the y-pipe at the same time! most important and biggest design flaw in the system...i put a S.S magnaflow y pipe in a little later and its a huge difference! if you have or know a welder its a moderate to slightly difficult job. i clamped mine together and drove it for a week, then got it welded up! youll be happy with the performence gains from just headers but the y-pipe is the major "choker" with our trucks! if and when you cut that thing out you will shake your head!

when changing the y-pipe, how are you keeping the ses light from coming on? is there an mil eliminator for these or doing it thru a tune? i personally want to put a magnaflow high flow cat on mine and a set of headers if i get around to being able to work on my own vehicles.

there are two cats on our trucks...one on each side conected to the manifolds..then 02 sensors then y-pipe. so changing y-pipe doesnt throw codes or effects emmissions... not sure about high flow cats or if they are beneficial? or code issues for that matter....

Are we talking about JBA 1949s2s? Thats what I have, for my $350 worth. Looks like the flange on the header end is bigger than the flange on the pipes, the bolts are further apart on the headers, at least on my 07 HO. Waiting for the right time to put them in, wanna have all my ducks in order, incase something goes wrong, I can hear it now. My wife is already pissed enough I put 2.25"s after the cats, into a Flowmaster Y collector, 3" pipe out from it, then a Hooker Aero Chamber, because it resonates bigtime at 1800 rpm. Might have to get differant flanges on there anyway, and have muffler shop do up a few inches of 2.25 from header to cats. Thinking of putting just stock 3" hemi muffler on there, should flow good, not resonate for sure. Is the bottom end and low end better as claimed with these headers? How about gas mileage, if you have even managed to stay out of it?

yeah im pretty good with not wasting gas.. i still get my lead foot in it alot of the time but it sounds awesome.. and its the same headers im pretty sure.. the passenger side seemed a little tight but me and a buddy got it on.. i also did them in like 20 degree weather which sucked but hey we had a good time doing it!

oh and i did feel a pretty noticable difference after they were installed.. mpg seemed to step up some not really sure how much didnt keep track but overall happy with my JBA's !

if i can talk myself to pull my truck in and put $$$ in it, i would like to do some headers as well. i will only do it if i can get my hands on a set of h.o. cams as well. while i am there, i would go ahead and pull the heads off and do some port work on them too.
