Default thinking about Nitrous

thinking of putting down the turbo idea for a while since Diablo hasnt come out with a tune yet for our trucks... so ive deicded to look at a 50-75 wet shot on a HO 4.7 would be good or bad? ive also heard u should have a tune to run Nitrous...
another question is whats the risks of putting the bottle on the 4.7 and how will it affect it over time?

uhm nitrous makes things go boom boom boom...lol you have to have a strong motor for it so to say. its gonna eventually wear out the piston rings faster but i mean thats if you do it directly into the motor from what i understand. if you hook it up to where it shoots into your intake near the TB that would be the best place for it so i've been told by several mechanics when i was thinking about putting nitrous on my truck.

grow some ***** and do it. as long as you dont go over the 75 shot you will be able to use the stock computer, unlike me who sometimes runs the 100 shot, truck dont like it that much. 65 is a happy medium. i sent you an email about nitrous kit, purge kit, bottle warmer kit, you need to purchase everything seperate, gonna cost a pretty penny, but it is a lot of fun. go back a few threads and look at my pics if they are still around.

As long as you are running a wet shot, a 75 shot should be fine (tuning wise). Just keep in mind that nitrous is a "power-adder" and increases cylinder pressure significantly. As mentioned above, your life span on piston rings and pistons will decrease. If abused, you will see excessive ring gap and collapsed piston skirts (to the point where your piston to cylinder wall clearance is out of tolerance).

ummm, I wouldnt go with a dry shot, I would go with a wet shot... Its easier on the engine and less likely to go lean on ya. Plus its safer

idk how your intake would go boom..because the nitrous is going in through the intake its not exploding or combusting in the intake itself thats not occuring until a while later. but i mean nitrous either way is doing harm to your motor in the long run no matter how little or large amount of nitrous you use. you use a little bit here and there its gonna do damage to the piston rings and pistons themselves as i've stated above before but it'll take a lot longer to show depending on how often you use the NITRO power. honestly our motors are strong but not exactly to the point where they can hold nitrous safely for a long while. but yeah thats my 2 cents.
