Its the 3" diameter in and out, basically stock appearing, with the stock muffler and resonator deleted, and new pipe from about the Y back. The 07s only have one resonator. I like the sound alot, its and aggressive monstrous sound, no raspy or crackly sound, as well as no over the top. Its definently an ear catcher, yet its stealthy. It looks slightly more restricted than the Vortex, but theres no fiberglass packing. Its straight exhaust I have been complimented on it before, and asked what exhaust it was. It gave me more throttle response and gave it a little more low end torque. Mated up with the KN CAI, the truck is lively...

And alittle clip...

*Diclaimer: The Truk Nutz have been denutted as of now, thanks to a couple snowbanks and the cold weather*

Oh and yes Rich I am picture whoring again

Hey 'bolt, what you hear if anything about the Cherry Bombs being really bad about rust and having crappy welds? Guy on the 3rd Gen Ram side I think yesterday, saying he's a muffler shop, either owner or tech, (can't remember which) saying to stay away...
But it's first I've heard it...

I know I'm just waiting for my FM50HD to start to show signs of rust so I can justify yanking it and even though I've been right here on the coast with the salt air for better than half the 4 years I've had it, the summbitch is still solid as day 1, a bit discolored, but no rust!!!

I havent heard anything bad about them, they are all aluminized steel with a high temp paint so I cant see where they would be bad about rusting... compared to other mufflers. I have run aluminized pipe on my other vehicles and it lasts alot longer than your non aluminized. The shop I been using is a retailer of Cherry Bomb and Magnaflow, but they seem to sell more Cherry Bomb than anything according to the owner, but that could all be a sales pitch too. I have had it on for about 5-6 monthes now and it still looks the same as the day I bought it even after all the salt spray and long distance trips. So yeah its the first I have heard bad about Cherry Bomb and rust or crappy welds.

My Vortex is protected with hi temp black powdercoat. I think only the Vortex's come that way though. The local guy I had do the install only sells Flowmaster and Cherry Bomb, he told me the only reason he carries the Flows is a lot of people come in looking for them and won't take anything else but he tries to talk them into the Cherry Bomb's instead. He swears by them and he guarantees any muffler he installs for life. The piping isn't covered since in Maine it's guaranteed to rust no matter what but if the muffler ever gets damaged, rusts etc... he'll replace it no charge.

Considering the SI/DO Vortex I had him install on my old Chevy held up extremely well and considering I trust the guy I'm going to say the quick to rust and crappy welds thing is BS.

Sorry to bring back this thread... So I spoke with my local exhaust shop and they are gonna do a complete custom cat back for $200. Not including the muffler, which I'm supplying. I think thats pretty reasonable. Still cheaper than anything they offer online. I'm definitly going with the Cherry Bomb Pro muffler. 'Bolt, you said in your post yours is 3", I'm assuming that's because you have the 4.7? I should go with 2 1/2", correct? Also, should I go with the Offset inlet-Center outlet configuration that you did? Sorry 'bout the questions, I need to order the muffler today online so hopefully I can get it done this upcoming weekend.

Found mufler flow tests. The hooker max flow seems to have the best performance. The same as a straight pipe! WOW
