Ok. So I know that the new 4.7 has double the plugs, is that it? I mean if all it is getting is more spark why can't we duplicate it and increase our spark with MSD or other? Maybe I'm just retarded. (left myself open there).

the extra plug does not increase spark. it helps burn the extra fuel that the first plug misses.

OK, so I guess I'm wrong. How can a cylinder which is exploding and combusting all the materials within, be missing fuel?

A spark plug initiates a flame front; which moves at a finite speed based on the fuel type, mixture, etc. Having two plugs allows for two flame fronts, and therefore a quicker, more efficient burn.

If you make a brush fire, and start kindling in 2 or 3 spots versus one, the fire starts faster and is putting out more heat energy within a certain amount of time. More heat in less time = more work, and more power.
