Default Fwd exhaust canister removed

I have an '08 laramie with the 4.7 and I had an exhaust shop cut out the fwd. can and install a straight pipe. I noticed a small power increase and a better exhaust tone immediately. The exhaust shop called this "can" a resonator, I called it unnecessary. Has anyone else done this? Why install two mufflers on these trucks?

Yea, I took the stock muffler off and the rear resonator. My truck only had one resonator which has been different from the 05s and 06s and now I guess 08s. I replaced the muffler with a Cherrybomb Pro and new pipe from the y back

Looks like you caught the mod bug, good luck with that...
