Ford owns Mazda....he did buy American. Watch out for motor mounts and suspension bushings. My wife's ride is a Mazda5. The Speed3 is awesome, but no more dak....It is a sad day.

Ford owns Mazda yes, but that's like saying Chrysler was German when they were owned by Daimler. Not true.

Most all of the plants are in Japan. The CEO's and chairmen are Japanese. Mazda headquarters and Mazda Motorsports are in Japan.

BUT, I love Mazda, especially RX-7's, RX-8's, 6's and speed Miata's... I just wish he would have kept the Dodge too.

Sad to see you go, those speed3's are great little cars though. If I was looking for a 2nd ride and I had the money to spare it would be on my list to look at. Feel free to drop by once in awhile.

Yeah...I was mostly joking. But it is such a global industry, at least Ford reaps some Jap-profits

Nice ride. I like the Speed3's as well.

As for buying American, check out the Nippon-Denso alternator under the hood of every one of our trucks

[quote=MonkeyWrench4000;1569721]That's a great car. I almost went for one myself. Greatest FWD turbo'd car on the road. Very nice. The mazdaspeed3 is the small fwd turbo tuner car perfected IMO. Mazda did a great job with this car. It's affordable too, worth every penny.

This may be a biased opinion, but 08 Cobalt SS/TC ftw! HP is about the same between the two, but the mazda wins in the TQ and weight department. Either way, nice looking car!

The Speed3 does have torque management in 1st and 2nd gears--helps with both the wheel spin and the torque steer. But even with that you can spin them tires in first, second and third gears. Haven't tried it in 4th yet.....You're going pretty darn fast at that point to try to free up the front end.

My name is Madzilla in the Speed3 forum, for the guy that asked.
