Default How To: Installing aftermarket fog lights on a vehicle with factory fog lights.

First you have to find a place to mount your fog lights.

Mine I mounted on the crossmember in front of the radiator. I removed the two inner most bolts with a 13mm socket.

Next, I ran the ground wire, I chose in front of the crossmember near the bottom, so you don't see it.

Next, I hid the wires behind some bracing, so you don't see them.

Next, I took my test light, and found out which wire in my fog light socket was the power, for my truck, it was the white wire, and tapped into that...

Then you test the lights...

If all is good, they will turn on, like these pics will show...

Mine have a nifty rainbow hue to the lenses and therefore, produce a rainbow effect on the grille...

NIce, the plus for this way of install is you didn't have to go through the firewall. The down side is your new lights are dependent on the fogs being on. I have them independent to the stock truck lights. Direct wire to the battery, to a toggle switch in the cab. Then out to the lights. then fron the lights to the truck ground. Can use them with or without the stock lights on. Nice writeup and photos. Shows people different options depending on what they would like.

since I usually always drive with my running lights and fogs on in the day, this is a nice addition to be seen...

They are only on when my fogs are on, and that's how I wanted mine...
