Default Need some help for when I get new tires...

I'm thinking about getting 20's, right now I have 18's, and I need new tires soon...only have 25k on them, but figures they would need to be replaced so soon, they ARE the stock ones lol. anyways, I want to get 20's, but I don't want to get a lift or anything, so what size tire should I get? I don't want low profile right now, I want something with a good amount of rubber on them.

Anybody have 20's on their Dakota right now that I could see?

Thanks.

Yes I do.

If it were me, however, I'd stay with 18's... I only went with 20s cuz they were cheaper than the same wheel but in 18"...

Made no sense to me, but whatever... The difference between 18s and 20s is sooooooooooo minuscule on our trucks, I wouldn't waste the money if I were you..

Not to hijack your thread, but I just found this site by clicking one of the sponsor links. There are some mad discounts on here, including wheels and tires. I've been checking out some Pro Comp rims at 60% off. Yes, 60%!

Thank you for the info everyone. I really have no idea what size I want, I love the 18's. I just want to get a new rim, I love my rims. Something black or chrome/black. I'm not sure yet. I know there is a lot out there though. Thanks for the tip though on saving money, I'll probably stick to the 18's. The ones that came on my truck are sweet though, they are the 18" chrome rims. I love them. who knows what I'll do but I was thinking about switching it up when I got new tires because mine are almost to the wear bar!

here's the truck after the first lowering

i am running 295/45 20's on the rear now . don't have any new pics . IMO i would go with something taller than the 275/45 to much fender well gap . i put the 295/45 on the the front just to try and they seem like they would clear ok .

My Lamarie 4x4 came with 265/70/16's stock, 30.6 dia, I went with 265/50/20 which is VERY close to stock height 30.4 and same width, on my RAM 20's. I would actually like to try 275/50's but they are WAYYY expensive! The 265's feel very much like the 16's as far as rolling resistance but handle better and are a little firmer due to less sidewall. No rubbing!

Scottscan, you have one sweet ride!!!

thanks LB , i like it !!! you know i wish i would have went with the 265/50-20's but discount tire said 275/45-20's . that's why i went back after running them a while and put the wide 295/45-20's on the back ,i really like them they fill up the rear fender wells nice. i just put them on the front when i got them just to see if they would clear and to my surprize they did even with the front lowered about 2 inchs. as far as pushing them i get about 16 mpg in town and i got about 20 mpg out on the road. that's with all the mods too , and with my foot in it most of the time.
