Why no custom lifts or SAS?!?
O, I forgot to add that I am replacing the entire steering. I am going to see what I can take from the Rubicon axle or aftermarket JK parts to fit the axle and a steering box from somewhere. I don't think that the wheels will be any further out. I think the Rubi axle is a bit more narrow before the spacers. If anyone has any opinions on the steering, I would be interested to hear.

hey man i strongly encourage you to move forward with your lift kit. im currently building a +3" long travel kit for my 06 2wd...but its for 2wd so i dont think it will help you 4x4 guys. but go for it man. i cant wait to see others lift their new trucks up.
I would agree. do a 2" block in back and see if you can fab up a D44 with a short arm link with triangulated upper?
D44's aren't hard to find. Just find a jeep that's doing a 60 swap. Is a pre-JK wrangler front really too narrow? Alhough i guess a matching bolt pattern would be your holdback.

I still have about 4 d44s that I am looking at. I would like to stay as close to the width as possible since I want to keep the rear axle. I would also like to keep the same pattern, but I could fix that with a spacer if the other axle is not the same width.

well the kit im building will give me about 4 inches of lift and im making fiberglass fenders since our good guys at glassworks dont think the demand is high enough to make them. im hoping about 12-15" usable travel with 2wd.
yea im pretty sure 35"s will fit with some king bump stops to prevent the tire from ripping everything up on the landing.
oh and height is the enemy unless your a show truck. its better to have usable travel with a kind of low, wide stance....unless your into that kind of thing.

I am debating doing leaf springs up front to make the SAS easier. Anyone have any input on this. I don't want the road ride to suffer to much, but I think with a nice spring like alcan, it will be ok.
