Will this dash kit work on my truck?
I am still trying to find a complete install kit to install my pioneer deck. I found this one:

This one says its for 05-07 dakotas. The wiring harness is what concerns me. Would this work?

I have the same one and my deck doesnt have any issues with flipping open and shut, but your right that the trim ring doesnt work.
heres the question I have. I put mine in and thought it was going to stay in place and the deck now keeps moving around, how did you make yours stay in place, if it does stay in place?

I have my deck fastened to the install kit with some small metric machine screws there should be slots on the sides that match up with pretty much all aftermarket stereos just make sure you use the correct threads and make sure the screws are not any longer then the need to be you do not want the screw going into the stereo a half inch and wreaking something inside I am replacing my stereo tomorrow or Tuesday I will try and snap a photo while it is out,

that kit should work fine, you will just need to find a switched power source, most people just go to the power outlet. I went to the ignition at the column.
The nice thing about most aftermarket head units is the fact that they make twice the power of the stockers we have. As long as you dont put too much bass to your stock speakers, they should sound a lot better. For a cheap aftermarket replacement, Polk has a nice entry level setup called the DB series. not a lot of bass, but sound great just powered from a head unit. Amp them and they really have a good mix of clear high frequencies and mid bass. Alpines Type S series is also a good choice. They like an amplifier a little more than the polks though. each can be had for right around a hundred bucks a pair.
