Default Custom CAI - 3" or 3.5" nominal?

I have tubing to do either 3" or 3.5" on my CAI. I plan on using exhaust tubing and welding together, sanding etc. so it's all one piece and looks smooth. I currently have a Filter with a 3.5" outlet, and the TB is 3.5 as well. BUT, most of the CAI's i've seen are 3".

Should I just go for the 3.5"? I have heard on some cars it requires tuning over 3" CAI's; is the dakota one of them?

Thanks guys! Oh, btw, plan on using my automotive painting guns for the first time on this thing to practice!

Why would the larger diameter piping require "tuning". That doesnt make any sense lol.

The truck already controls air/fuel mixtures actively. You could do whatever you really wanted as far as intake setup.

If you have everything you need to do the 3.5, then do the 3.5.
