Default Truck Cover

OK. I've had it with the wind here in New Mexico. It has little by little destroyed my truck canopy. So I'm thinking that maybe I need a good truck cover, mainly for protection from the sun. This way I wouldn't have to pull it down when the wind starts a howling. Any recommends for a total truck cover one. Thanks.

i went to pepboys and purchased one of those complete canopy garages for 200.00, great to have, just park inside it and close the cover, all year round protection and they are pretty sturdy.

There is a local marine company that make padded boat covers and will make one to fit whatever you want. Why padded? In Florida thunder storms with golf ball size hail that's why. Being I can’t get my truck under cover at work then this sounds like a good idea depending on price anyway. Might be something good for your truck in such conditions in NM.

I'm looking into a canopy also for the yard but it's has to be really have wind loading to hold up here. Northern tool has some rated at 75 mph but that just won't cut it. Still looking at them and might check military surplus depots.

what i did to mount mine was, get some 5 gallon pails from home depot or any hardware store, put the leggs inside the pails and fill with dirt. it becomes pretty sturdy against wind. or you could even dig holes for the pails and install it that way

I do have the legs of my cover stuck in buckets full of cement. The frame isn't the problem. It's the canopy itself that has been flopped around so much it's tearing in several places. Superdak05 I saw the one you are talking about at Pep Boys. Not recommended for this area either. I'm thinking more in the line of a molded cover.
